App of the Day: Google Translate
So I've decided to every day give out a recommended app of the day for Apple and/or Google Android devices. Hopefully you'll find some of these useful in your classrooms or just for personal enjoyment!
Today's app is Google Translate for the iPad. Translate has been available for Android and iPhone for a while and works great, but was never optimized for the iPad. This is perfect for any teacher who has students who don't speak your native language. However, it's really only good for translating simple sentences or words, not long papers or paragraphs.
Google Translate has a voice feature which allows you to speak your word/sentence into the microphone which then is converted to text for translation. I've found it's pretty accurate with English, but can have issues with other languages.
Google Translate is free so be sure to head to the AppStore and download it today!
